Handling basics

Research-use peptide storage guide.

Storage is part of the experiment. Protect lyophilized material from heat, light and moisture, label each vial clearly and document reconstitution details in the lab record.

Start with the form

Most catalogue peptides are supplied as lyophilized powder. Storage decisions should follow your laboratory protocol, product form and internal risk assessment. The guidance below is a general research-handling checklist, not a medical or use instruction.

Storage checklist

Keep dryMoisture can reduce consistency. Keep containers sealed until planned use.
Control temperatureCool or frozen storage is commonly used for lyophilized research material; follow your protocol.
Limit light exposureStore in a dark box or protected container where appropriate.
Label clearlyInclude product, strength, batch/lot, date received and date opened.
After reconstitutionDocument solvent, final concentration, date/time and protocol-defined storage window.

Before placing a research order

  • Confirm the compound is lawful to import and possess in your country.
  • Confirm your lab has storage capacity before dispatch.
  • Plan how each batch record will be filed internally.
  • Review your receiving, labeling and disposal workflow.
